San Antonio offers everything one would expect of a large city in Texas - and then much more! Travelers can sit down with a slow-smoked, fall-off-the-bone plate of barbecue or cheer on a cowboy attempting to stay atop of a bucking bull. Not your style? San Antonio is also home to the River Walk, a long riverfront boardwalk lined with boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries for those with a taste for the finer things.
RNs in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) are integral to postoperative care. PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology. Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications. It is important for RNs in the recovery room to quickly make critical patient assessments as the on-call doctor may be unavailable during an emergency. Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically and histories of fast, accurate diagnoses. Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus.
Texas travel assignments take you to the nation's second-largest state and home to three of the country's largest cities: Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Texas' population is rising, and so is the need for travelers.
