RN Neonatal ICU Job Descriptions

Neonatal intensive care units are classified as either level I, II, III, or IV nurseries, with level I NICUs caring mostly for healthy, full-term babies and level IV NICUs handling severely ill or early neonates often requiring surgical interventions. The duties of NICU nurses range from the stabilization of mostly healthy infants to the intensive care of critically ill preterm neonates.
